Independent laboratory testing subsequently demonstrated rapid pathogen-reduction performance through this initial footwear-focused interface. However, the engineering architecture developed to achieve that result is not confined to footwear, it provides the foundation for a compact, modular UV-C surface-disinfection platform that can be adapted to different surfaces, geometries, traffic patterns, and operating environments.

The opportunity therefore extends beyond a single product. Patented Digital Shielding distributes sensing, UV-C emission, and electronic control across independently operated treatment cells. These cells may be arranged in planar, curved, or other application-specific configurations, with grid geometry, cell density, shielding precision, and installation format engineered around each intended use.

Applying an illustrative per-unit value of $7,500 to application-specific facility and placement assumptions, the model indicates approximately $2.35 billion in potential U.S. deployment value. Healthcare represents the largest modeled opportunity at approximately $1.88 billion. Food-processing applications represent approximately $169 million, while transportation applications represent approximately $300 million.

HEALTHCARE

Healthcare presents the clearest initial commercialization pathway. A footwear-focused Infinite Shield system could be configured for surface-mounted or flush-mounted installation at hospital entrances and controlled clinical transitions, including entrances to operating rooms, intensive care units, and areas serving immunosuppressed patients.

The objective would be to reduce one potential pathway for pathogen ingress and redistribution without disrupting routine movement through occupied clinical environments. Potential settings extend beyond hospitals to ambulatory surgery centers, urgent care centers, physician offices, and long-term-care facilities, with shoe-sole disinfection providing a practical, measurable starting application.

FOOD PROCESSING & PACKAGING

Food-processing and packaging facilities rely on structured hygiene and biosecurity controls across employee entrances, production areas, packaging lines, cold storage, and sanitation zones. Foot traffic can connect otherwise separated areas and redistribute contamination despite established cleaning practices.

A footwear-focused Infinite Shield system could be deployed at employee entrances and controlled transitions to supplement existing chemical and procedural controls. Beyond footwear, application-specific configurations could be developed for conveyed items, reusable tools, or other surfaces introduced into hygienically sensitive areas.

AIRPORTS & MASS TRANSIT

Airports and mass-transit systems concentrate high passenger volumes within predictable movement pathways. Employee entrances, security-processing areas, controlled-zone transitions, maintenance facilities, and selected boarding or transfer points provide potential locations for rapid surface-disinfection interfaces.

Footwear-focused systems could be configured for surface-mounted or floor-integrated installation at defined high-traffic boundaries. Derivative products could also be engineered for selected personal items, equipment, or other frequently transferred surfaces.

BUSINESS & COMMERCIAL ENVIRONMENTS
